About Us
The River Raisin Centre for the Arts Dance Academy and its teachers are known for their dance training excellence. The Dance Academy offers the finest dance program, offering dance classes that focus on technique and process. We teach body discipline that lasts a lifetime!
At the River Raisin Centre for the Arts Dance Academy, strict attention is paid to proper dance class etiquette. All classes begin with a warm-up and include technique, loco-motor exercises, travelling and center floor combinations. Each class is properly ended with a cool down and dismissal by the instructor.
Dance history is inserted within the teacher's dialogue. Students are encouraged to practice and to keep a journal.
We offer Intro (age 3-6), Youth (Age 7-9), Pre-Teen (Age 10-12), Teen (Age 13+) and Adult classes in various levels of difficulty. Therefore, students remain focused and goal oriented as they train, study and excel in their dancing; whether as a fun hobby or as a professional career choice.
Class offerings include tap, jazz, classical ballet, pointe, variations, Hip-Hop, partnering, modern and ballroom (both smooth and lyrical). Other specialty classes include private ballroom, swing, flamenco, pilates, body conditioning and yoga.
Classes are designed to develop a student's skill level through beginning, intermediate and advanced courses. A student's placement in class is based on age and personal growth within the program.
